Interview: The Light Affect | Christian Blog/Website

See this content in the original post

Last month I took advantage of a very wonderful and blessed opportunity by partnering with The Light Affect. TLA is a Christian website/blog very similar to The Rebel Christian; I did a small feature highlighting their goal to spotlight Christian artists/entertainers and spread the Word about Christ to the rest of the world, you can find that post by clicking here. This month I want to share a little more about The Light Affect by sharing this interview with their owner/creator, Angie. I hope you enjoy what she has to say and take the time to check out her website! Like The Rebel Christian, Angie loves to feature Christian writers so I recommend looking at her blog to find out how you can get a spotlight.

1.      What inspired you to create The Light Affect?

TLA was created during a time when I was learning and growing in my relationship with God. It started as just a platform to talk about end time events (because that is where my true calling is—preserving Christians and Christian literature during the end ties).

2.      What is the meaning behind the name “Light Affect”?

I wanted to play on the words “Affect, Effect, and Infect”. But I wanted the word “light” to be in there to remind me and everyone who sees our website that we are the Light of Christ.

3.      What is your goal for your website?

At first, it was just an informative website, no real specific goal. But now, after a new inspiration from the Rebel Christian itself, the point of TLA is to offer young readers something more than just information, but rather a way to interact with the information. Now, there’s a blog, a music section where Christian artists can be featured, a Christian author feature, and even a weekly news update. Readers can interact by listening to the music available on the site, reading and following authors on Instagram, and more.

4.      Do you think you will face any opposition as a young Christian woman of color, building her own empire?

I probably will, but I welcome opposition as they are still viewers.

5.      Share your favorite scripture with us and how it ties to your website.

My favorite scripture is the 23rd Psalm. It doesn’t really tie into my website, but another scripture I find astounding is our base scripture, Matthew 5:16, “…let your light shine before men…” It’s something Jesus said when He was telling the disciples that we are the salt and light of the world. Letting our light shine before everyone is so important as a believer. We can never forget our purpose here, and we should never forget that our light is sometimes the only light others will see to draw them to Christ. So our work as Infectors of light is endless.

6.      What is your favorite sort of story to feature?

I like to feature anything that is flat out Biblical. I don’t really feature stories that have Christian undertones. If I find a really good one, possibly, but I like for Jesus to be the main focus in all that I do, even in the artists and authors that I feature. Not everyone gets featured, but those who do, I personally go over their materials.

7.      What should authors who’d like to be featured on The Light Affect do to contact you?

I have a guidelines page on my website, however, a simple email to me is suffice. I also have a contact form on my website, they can fill out to be featured.

8.      Who is the pastor in the sermon clips you have available to view?

Pastor Cyndi, my mom. She’s the Pastor of the church I go to, and she’s really passionate about her work.

9.      What is your favorite part of blogging?

My favorite part is that it’s my blog. So if I forget to post (which I try not too haha), it’s not a bad thing. My readers/infectors are very warm and understanding!

10.  What do you think the future of our sister sites will be?

They will grow exponentially and others will come to be sister sites with us. We are small now, but we are reaching the multitudes little by little and our future is very bright.
